Baby clothes: this is what you really need
When you're pregnant with your first child, a whole new world opens up. A fun, yet exciting world where you have to make many choices when it comes to purchasing all sorts of products. This also applies to what you'll need before the birth—from a crib to a romper. The temptation to buy everything new is strong, because everything is so cute! But what do you really need, and what should you keep in mind? You'll find the answers in our baby shower checklist, compiled in collaboration with Zeeman.
Why our baby shower list
Zeeman offers soft, comfortable newborn clothes like rompers and rompers at the lowest possible price. With the Tiny Library × Zeeman shared baby shower list, you can see exactly what's essential—and what you can add later. This way, you're off to a smart, eco-friendly, and affordable start.
What size baby clothes should you buy?
It's important to remember that your little one grows incredibly quickly in the first year of life. While your midwife can make an estimate, weight and length remain a surprise. Therefore, don't buy too many clothes in advance. Ask around among family and friends who also have children; this way, baby clothes get a second life and don't end up in the trash.
On average, most babies are born in a size 50. If your baby is smaller or was born prematurely, it's best to choose a size 48 or smaller. If your baby weighs more than eight pounds, choose a size 56. Was your little one born and turned out to be a little smaller or larger than expected? With rental services like Grey Label or Red Orka, you can still get clothes quickly. Once your little one outgrows the clothes, simply return them. Babies generally change clothing size every two months. You can find a handy sizing chart here .
