Which children's bicycle do you choose?

Welke kinderfiets kies jij? - Tiny Library

Cycling is important for children because it promotes physical activity and contributes to their overall health and well-being. It helps develop their motor skills, coordination and balance, while also strengthening the muscles and bones. In addition, it encourages an active lifestyle from a young age, which of course has many benefits in the future. Furthermore, cycling promotes a sense of independence, freedom and adventure, allowing children to explore their surroundings and connect with nature. It also cultivates environmental awareness, teaches them the value of sustainable transportation and instills a lifelong appreciation for eco-friendly choices. To make cycling even more sustainable, renting is a perfect option. With the Tiny Bike subscription, your child is always provided with a bicycle in the right size and you contribute to a more sustainable world.

There are numerous advantages to renting instead of buying, it is not only better for the environment, but also for your wallet. By renting, fewer things need to be produced and less is thrown away 1 . This means fewer raw materials and energy for production, reduced CO2 emissions from transport and less waste 2 . Renting is on average cheaper than buying (second-hand) products, provides security and offers the latest products including a service guarantee. By renting you also need less (storage) space for products that you do not use.

Which bicycle suits your child?

Balance bike

Your child cannot start developing his or her motor skills early enough. A balance bike is therefore the perfect way to contribute to this, by working on balance, judgment, walking, running and of course having fun. It is therefore often seen as a toy for young children. In addition, it is a stepping stone to learning to ride a real bicycle. On average, children can take some steps when they are one year old. From that moment on you can start with a balance bike with three or four wheels. This provides enough stability to practice safely. Around the age of two you can switch to a balance bike with two wheels. The leg muscles are then strong enough to accelerate and support themselves properly. A balance bike is usually used for 2 to 3 years before you can switch to a normal children's bike.

Children's bicycle

On average, children from the age of five learn to cycle on a normal children's bicycle, with of course also children who are ready for this a little earlier or a little later. As soon as they want and dare in combination with good motor skills, your child is ready for a real bicycle.

There are many things to think about when choosing a bike, such as size, adjustability and looks. We are happy to help you choose the best bicycle for your child. That is why we have listed the different options that can be rented at Tiny Library in our children's bicycle quiz.
