Isofix is an internationally standardized attachment system for car seats. Isofix ensures an extremely strong connection between the car seat and your car.
Unlike traditional installation with car seat belts, an Isofix car seat works with special click systems that are anchored directly to the chassis of your car.
These Isofix brackets are standard in almost all cars produced after 2006.
To check if your car is compatible with an Isofix car seat, look between the backrest and the seat cushion. You'll find small plastic caps or metal brackets marking the Isofix points. Your car's owner's manual will also tell you if and where these are located.
All cars from November 2011 onwards are legally required to have Isofix anchor points. If you're unsure, you can ask your dealer or look up the specifications online. Please note that not every car seat is Isofix-compatible – always check the model list for your seat to see if it supports your car model.
